New Client Setup

I look forward to getting started!   To set up your new service I will need some information:

New Bookkeeping Clients

I will need the following to work on your bookkeeping:

Step 1- Grant me access to your accounting software:

If I am setting up a new company file for you, you don't need to worry about this, I will do it for you.   If you already use online accounting software, I will need you to please follow the steps below:

In QuickBooks Online:

From the home screen, click on the Gear Menu and beneath the column heading labeled “Your Company” select the Manage Users tab.  Click Invite Accountant to open a new invitation.  Enter [email protected] and click "Next".  Then click "Finish" and you are done!

In Wave Accounting:

On your Business tab, click Settings at the bottom left of any screen.  Click on Collaborators under General. Click on the Add a collaborator button on the right. Enter [email protected] in the email address field and grant "view and edit" access.  Click "Save" and you are done!

In Xero

In the Settings menu, select General Settings -> Click Users -> Click Invite a User.
Enter [email protected] in the e-mail address field.  Choose "Advisor" as the user role. Click Continue and then click Send Invite.

Step 2- Provide me with your financial documents

There are several ways for you to do this.  If you selected the online filing or green package add-on, I will be setting a Hubdoc account up for you and providing instructions on how to connect your bank accounts.

Grant me view only online access to your bank

Each bank handles online access differently and not all offer accountant logins so please contact your bank for additional information.

Give me bookkeeper access to your Hubdoc account

From your Hubdoc account: Click 'Accounts' in the top right corner, click on the 'Profile' tab, under the 'Invite users to access your Hubdoc account' heading, enter [email protected]

If you configured automatic bank connections in Hubdoc, I will be able to access the statements automatically.  Otherwise, you will need to upload your information every month via their website, by e-mailing to your Hubdoc address or through their mobile app.

You can also submit your bank statements and other documents in PDF format through the file upload portal here.  Click here and bookmark the page for future reference.  Or just click the "Client Portal" button at the bottom of every page in this website.

New WordPress Care Plans

Step 1- Create an administrator account for me on your WordPress site.  

To do this, login to your website and go to Users → Add New. Choose a username, fill in [email protected] in the e-mail field,  check the box “Send this password to the new user by email” and select "Administrator" using the drop-down field in "Role". Click "Add New User" and you are done.

Step 2- Provide SFTP/FTP Access to your hosting

This information is optional but recommended as it will allow me to restore your site without delay if an update breaks the site, or the website is hacked.

You will need to get the following information from your hosting company, this is available by logging into your hosting account.  

  • Hostname
  • Port
  • Username
  • Password
  • Website Directory Path

In some cases where a site restore or repair is needed, I may also need the SQL information for your database.

For New Websites

If I am building a website for you and providing the hosting, you don't need to do anything else, I will set everything up for you.

If you already have a hosting account or are purchasing the hosting elsewhere, I will need the login information for your hosts' control panel (URL, username, and password)
